Hi, I am Raul Mata.
I am 26 years old and I've been doing photography for over a year. I grew up and reside in Porterville, California currently. My passion for photography has always been in me yet I didn't pursue it until the fall of 2019. My good friend helped me come up with the name for my photography business, RM.Shutters. The RM in 'RM.Shutters' stands for my first and last name (Raul Mata). I wanted something different (wing 4 in me/enneagram reference). My first camera was a Nikon Coolpix. Seriously loved that thing. From there I moved over to the Sony a6000 and recently upgraded to the Sony a7r iii. Literally my FAVORITE camera that I have used. I can seriously go on and on about it lol 😅. Since then I have been taking advantage of being blessed in taking photos for families, joyful individuals, and couples. I currently do a lot of family/couple/lifestyle photos and would love to expand my boundaries by going into more events like weddings/quinceneras/sports. I constantly look for ways to challenge myself on how I can become a better photographer and know with my effort and a right mindset I can get there. Overall, the thrill and fulfillment of being able to capture moments with photos is more than overjoying to me. Those are precious moments that you get to relive.
